McAra’s prepress department utilizes an advanced digital workflow engineered for precision and productivity. McAra’s high capacity FTP site enables our clients to upload digital content of any size and at any time. Our prepress department uses a range of fully equipped, current generation Mac and Windows workstations for file preflight and preparation. Coordinating the processes, the Esko Backstage workflow is widely regarded as the most powerful prepress solution available, enabling very precise trapping and editing of any file format. High quality contract proofs as well as fully imposed two-sided ColourLine proofs are produced on a variety of high-resolution wide-format HP inkjet printers. After proof approval, plates are produced on a Heidelberg Suprasetter MCL thermal computer-to-plate system, ensuring high image quality is maintained over long print runs. And of course the entire workflow is colour managed ensuring what you see in your proof is what you get on press.

Proofing
McAra provides HP Premium proofs produced from the same 1bit TIFF information used to make plates, ensuring that you see an accurate proof of your press sheet before printing. Additionally we produce a ColourLine for each project, an inkjet version of a blueline to check imposition, content and pagination. On request, remote clients can proof their work with a PDF file.
Output
Our Heidelberg Suprasetter Thermal CTP produces long-running plates with an amazingly sharp dot.
